Dyeology is a joint venture of two fiber
loving women. The colorific joy of spinning, dyeing, knitting,
and playing with fiber has turned from a part-time hobby into
a full-time one.
The well known process needs little
explanation. The dyeing takes place in the woods near Delaware,
Ohio. The color of the Ohio countryside inspire our creative process
and guide the creation of our fibers color.
Dyeology fibers come from multiple sources, including ; commercial,
fiber festivals, and mostly from local animals raised by small
Ohio farmers.
About
our Dyeologists:
Jodi works full time provding therapy
to children on the autism spectrum. Some of Jodis color
choices come from the amazing progress her clients make. She enjoys
the total change of pace and the relaxing process that the dyeing
studio brings. She finds instant gratification in dying fiber.
Jodi is the creator of our famous Dyeology bags.
Constance has worked for 30 years as
a glassblower, working in the Hot Shop, blowing glass in the centuries
old tradition. For fun, there is the torch work and you will see
for sale here glass items made in her studio. Fiber is also a
great change of pace for her. Color is color and that drives her
passion for both kinds of work but fiber is nice that it is not
2200 degrees while she is working with it. Dyeing, spinning, batt
making, fun stuff that you will work up into beautiful finished
items that will be like nothing you can buy. Handmade art from
start to finish.
We have diverse interests that will
inspire us to add new products and colorway lines. Check back
often to see what the studio mixes up. There is always something
new to learn, new techniques to incorporate, and new ideas. We
hope that what inspires us will also please our customers and
that your finished creation will remind you of the fun we had
making it for you.
